An update

We have recovered most of the necessary files to get the site up and running somewhat normally.

It will be up in a day or two. Hang in there guys!

Wow, remember this blog? It was made to keep people updated in serious situations where we experienced prolonged downtime. Sadly this is the case yet again.

Some of you might be aware that we were planning to change hosts yet again due to the technical and administrative difficulties we were experiencing. We were literally 2-3 days from finally moving when our host experienced hardware related problems and the site disappeared off the internets.

Worry not though, we got the database and stuff backed up. But right now we can only wait for our host to straighten things out and give us the files - and then we are all set to move to our new host and keep doing what we do best. Hopefully this will happen within the week.

Until then, catch up on some Asian movies you have not seen, or why not digitalize some that you already own so you have them ready? Trust us when we say that we are doing our best for a speedy recovery of ADC, because after all Asian DVD Club is the sun that never sets!

This URL (asiandvdclub.org) might stop working for you very soon, don't be alarmed though, it's just being redirected to our server, and it might take some time for your ISPs to update their DNS servers

Now we are just waiting for PRQ to give us a new IP so we can redirect this domain to the site, and then we are ready to go.

People that donated within 1 month of the raid will get their upload bonus. People that donated to TorrentYakuza will also receive upload bonus on ADC 2.0.

When the cat is gone...

First of all, I am surprised to see that so many are willing to start over again. This again proves what a solid community we are. The support you guys give is great.

The overwhelming majority obviously want a fresh start. So lets do that. We can't wait any more for the police to give us the server back, we got addictions to feed!

So clear some room on your hard drives, rip a few movies, buy a pack of DVDRs, cause ADC is coming back to take out the trash.


Speaking of trash... We appreciate that other sites serve as temporary homes for ADC-users we do not appreciate when the people involved in those sites (namely bithq) spam our blog, spews out racial slurs, smacktalk, insult the staff in a very immature manner or even send dino mail where they threatens to call the police on us. It is just not cool.

And if that wasn't enough they lock+delete threads where users discuss ADC-related stuff. They even go as far as banning users that say they are going to leave when ADC comes.

We would love to cooperate with other sites that share the same interests and goals as us, but I guess bithq doesn't feel the same. They kind of sat the bar with their hostile stance towards ADC.

Oh well, enough of this drama, our club will be back up very soon, so stay tuned.

Where do we go from here? You decide.

Ok, we can't wait any longer for the cops to do their thing. So I turn to you, the community for advice on how to do with ADC.

The situation is this:

ADC were on 2 servers. MKULTRA and the more powerful MKNAOMI.
The cops never found MKULTRA, but they took MKNAOMI, we have waited for their lazy asses for several months now, and I do not wish to wait any longer. Even if we get the server back we can not rule out that the cops may have broken the disk, erased it or whatever.

We have two alternatives:

Alternative 1:

We still have fresh backups of the ADC files that was hosted on MKULTRA, however since we don't have the database all the forum posts, torrent information and user information is stored there. So what we could do is to re-open ADC again, but basically we start from scratch. Everyone have to re-register at the site, and "start over" again.

This may sound very hopeless, but I am sure that we can build up the site one more time. ADC have taken many blows, but we always managed to get back on our feet. Thanks to our great community. And ratio wont be a issue in the first few weeks. Also, since it is a fresh start we can make major changes if the community wants it, like allowing audio CDs or DVD rips or whatever.

Alternative 2:

Open TorrentYakuza, and just wait until we get the server back and hope that everything is intact. This could be 2 months to 20 years for all we know.


What do you guys think? Please leave a comment, if the majority wants a fresh start, then we'll do that.

Personally I think a fresh start would be good, we cant have our beloved users spread out on shitty ADC-clones. Let me know what you think.

News from the front

Long time no see... I just wanted to let you know that the past month things have been moving really slow. The reason for this is that the cops that have any mandate are on vacation, and the only thing left is a bunch of stand-ins that can do nothing else than to say "Please wait until the people in charges come back from their vacation".

So there has not been anything we could do other than to wait.

And just to clear things up:
The project is not dead.
We have not given up.
We will be back.
We are as frustrated as you about this whole ordeal.
