Where do we go from here? You decide.
Ok, we can't wait any longer for the cops to do their thing. So I turn to you, the community for advice on how to do with ADC.
The situation is this:
ADC were on 2 servers. MKULTRA and the more powerful MKNAOMI.
The cops never found MKULTRA, but they took MKNAOMI, we have waited for their lazy asses for several months now, and I do not wish to wait any longer. Even if we get the server back we can not rule out that the cops may have broken the disk, erased it or whatever.
We have two alternatives:
Alternative 1:
We still have fresh backups of the ADC files that was hosted on MKULTRA, however since we don't have the database all the forum posts, torrent information and user information is stored there. So what we could do is to re-open ADC again, but basically we start from scratch. Everyone have to re-register at the site, and "start over" again.
This may sound very hopeless, but I am sure that we can build up the site one more time. ADC have taken many blows, but we always managed to get back on our feet. Thanks to our great community. And ratio wont be a issue in the first few weeks. Also, since it is a fresh start we can make major changes if the community wants it, like allowing audio CDs or DVD rips or whatever.
Alternative 2:
Open TorrentYakuza, and just wait until we get the server back and hope that everything is intact. This could be 2 months to 20 years for all we know.
What do you guys think? Please leave a comment, if the majority wants a fresh start, then we'll do that.
Personally I think a fresh start would be good, we cant have our beloved users spread out on shitty ADC-clones. Let me know what you think.

I say we start over. I doubt any loyal ADC fan would have a problem with that.
Audio CD's? WTF this is ASIAN DVD CLUB. Thre are plenty of CD sites out there, but there was only one ADC.
I want it back!
BTW I have no problem re-upping all my rare DVD's. I just want ADC back.
To add to what I said, if they were ASIAN audio CD's that would be cool, but not if it became the main focus of the site.
I have some great Japanese and Korean rap CD's I can up. I love Drunken Tiger!

I'm sad that we won't be able to get our stats back, but I want to get ADC back as soon as possible. I'll definitely help out.
If we do start ADC again and you guys somehow get MKNAOMI back, would it be pointless to get it back or could you guys use that to 'upgrade' whatever we start with now?
a fresh start with a view to adding all the profile info of prior users (who have re-joined) once you get the server back.
ADC is to great for all of us. One important site for us all. This incident is just out of our hand. It's unfortunate for ADC. when i c the options, i refer the 1st one. Because the our royal members to ADC is real and i'm sure we will get back like we was before. ADC for LIFE!!!!!!!!!

I see the point about those banned leechers, but who knows.. Maybe they'll change and help the community. We can always have them banned again.
I say we have some stricter ratio rules or something that doesn't allow newcomers to download too much. Either they seed what they have until 1:1 or they actually rip a movie and upload it.
(Oink's ratio requirements come in to mind..)

The thing I will miss most are my bookmarks, since I didn't keep a backup.
Lost ratio is not a catastrophic issue for most. Users who kept a good ratio before will most likely continue uploading roughly the same amount, and vice-versa. Old habits die hard.

My ratio was 300GB in credit, but eff it, get the site running again. Seriously.
NO REPEAT NO RIPS OF DVDS! Otherwise every single uploader will be hassled for rips, and then some other crumpy gunt will say "oh but that kind of rip doesn't play on my otherwise incredibly amazing Philips blah-di-blah 642 player" or "but I can't get 720MB on a CD-R" and all that other crap you get on other torrent sites.
Only rips of rare unavailable material. Tv captures, VHS conversions, etc.
If you want rips go to FSS!

Audio CD's sound fine as long as they are soundtracks of asian films or anime films on ADC.
DVD rips though wouldnt be a good idea

As long as they are in a different section (so users don't have to scroll through them to browse movies) i can't really see the alternative for this.
It would be awesome to have a torrent site that included music from all over asia and treated it with the same respect that ADC does its movies.

I think a fresh start is the best option... and also you can apply the bonus point system that jpopsuki.eu uses to improve ratio. Some people, like myself, din't have access to a seedbox and sometimes when we need to improve our ratio is very hard and need to download golden torrents we don't want (and sometimes use large HD space) just to help on that matter. This system rewards with x points by x minutes/hours you're seeding a torrent besides the info you're able to share... it's just a simple suggestion but would help many people to maintain the ratio required on the rules.
